Over the last year, we've been working on new material, and for the last few months have been working on the new CD the studio. You may be wondering what's taking so long... well the answer is easy enough. Money.

As you may know, We aren't on a label (MD is ours), and everything we do is done in house. We originally had hoped/planned on going back to work with Travis Wyrick, but his costs went up substantially from the last time... Talking about a huge disapointment ;( So with the same DIY that we've always had We started a plan too move forward and do it ourselves.

The band has been working with our Soundman & Road Manager, Matt "band-slave" Crowder and have been recording tracks in one of the audio rooms at Dreamsire.

Audio samples are being made avaialble in the Ritual Preview area.
Gretchenland.com/ritual will point to information about the CD and information leading up to it's release.

02262008 Angles - (yeah I know it's mispelled) - rhythm guitars
03012008 Wait for You - rhythm guitars
03022008 Nevermore - rhythm guitars
03042008 Silence - rhythm guitars and bass
03072008 Silence - changed the verse around from the previous version -- tweaked some the little progression in the chorus
03082008
  • Cemetery Gates -- re-tracked rhythm guitars
  • I had a dreman - rhythm guitar on chorus - (I'll probably end up tweaking these some more) - verse guitars are next

Last Week I finished up butterflies... and we were going to be throwing down the bass parts too ... but Mia's speaker cabinet caught fire... so :(

Monday we did guitars for falling in love with you.
Tonight I hit hear me falling.

I just uploaded "going" (which will change once mia had done the vocal bit) and "in your eyes" ....

Finally got Mia's bass amp back ...

We were afraid that the amp is what caused her speaker cab to catch fire -- as it runs out it was a bad crossover component in the enclosure that was the culprit.
In any case we were able to pick the amp up and get her other cab to the studio yesterday.

Mark Lackey dropped in, it was cool hanging with him as we haven't been seeing him as much as we used to lately.

After Mia & I got the cab loaded in, it didn't take long for Matt to get the tracks set up and ready to go in Nuendo. And so Mia & I spent the evening till close to midnight working on laying down the bass track for this song.

I just wanted to stop by and say Hi! I am really looking forward to your upcoming release, as I have already heard "Cemetery Gates" and it is Phenomenal!! The lyrics are dead on and it musically matches! I hope you don't mind, I saved the Quicktime interview with the preview and edited it (to my liking ie: adding reverb, echos off certain parts of the vocals, mixing it down to different formats including mp3, etc..) but plan on buying the album as soon as it is released!! I can't wait, and I just wanted to express to you guys that you are all doing a fantastic job so far with the album!

Gretchen Rocks plain and simply!!!

Man, I'd love to hear the new stuff.

When I try to go to the preview area though, I apparently do not have permission. :(

Well, good luck on it and I'm looking forward to hearing it!
